Would you like an audio recording of a previous match?
MCC's ball-by-ball commentary began during 2006 - we have an archive of all the matches at Lord's since (except Middlesex and England) and some MCC tour games at Arundel and Durham. We supply the full, unedited ball-by-ball commentary as broadcast. If you are looking for a specific incident or interview we may also be able to find it.
The files for a full day's cricket are very big so (normally) we supply them in MP3 format on a single CD-ROM - you can only play this in your computer or on a CD player that supports the MP3 format (check the text on the front panel.)
If you'd like the commentary on multiple 'ordinary' CDs, which can only store just over an hour each, please ask for a price (or in the case of the Sessay/Shipton Village Final, which is proving popular, you can pay online immediately.)
Prices for 2010:
The charge is primarily to cover time and costs - typical price £6 per match/disc, plus £1.50 for UK P&P - we can also ship internationally - airmail from £3. Downloads are also available - please ask for quote - you'll need a fast (and reliable) internet connection.
If you live in the UK and wish to buy a single 2010 recording, you can order online with a credit or debit card:
(Although your card will be authorised for the full amount, you won't be charged anything until your order is dispatched.)
If you don't see the option you want, please ask. [List of earlier matches »]
If you need your CD/DVD posted outside the UK, or you would like multiple copies, custom editing, recordings from previous years or you wish to pay by an alternative method (e.g. cheque, Paypal etc.) please drop us a line.

Formats available
CD-ROM:
(simple explanation) As cricket commentaries are anything up to 7 hours long, and an audio CD can only hold 74 minutes, we supply recordings in MP3 format. This is playable in any computer with a CD-ROM or DVD drive, and an increasing number of recently manufactured CD and DVD players (there will normally be a label to indicate they are capable of playing MP3 files on the disc tray.)
(technical details) We supply single-layer CD-R media recorded in yellow-book (aka CD-ROM, aka CDFS, aka ISO-9660) format. The session and disc is 'closed' before posting. MP3 files files are usually encoded (from the original WAV file) at 192kbps, single mono channel, 44khz sample rate (earlier matches, 2008 or earlier, were mostly recorded at a lower rate - 64 or 96kbps.). The discs are burnt on an Apple Mac but are fully Windows compatible.
Standard audio CD:
(simple explanation) Many older CD players can't play MP3 CDs - they can only play the standard 74-minute disc used for singles and albums. We are happy to split the commentary up and supply them to you in this format so you can play them at home, in car, etc. Please ask for an exact price (guide: typically £5 per disc + postage.)
(technical details) 'Red book' format, usually one single track, just under 74 minutes (regardless of the 'claimed' disc capacity). CD text enabled.
WAV and DVD:
From 2009 we started recording the original WAV files of the recordings, not just compressed MP3s (though as we encode MP3s at 192kbps mono it's very hard to tell the difference - and a day's play comfortably fits on a CD-ROM at that bandwidth so we rarely have to use DVDs at all.) However we are happy to supply on DVD in WAV format instead of CD, at no extra charge to you. Again, you will need to play the disc on your computer, not a DVD player. Equally, if you want several matches or clips, we may be able to combine them on a single DVD for you.
(technical details) Up to now we've been burning single layer media. If you want (and assuming your computer can read) dual layer, higher capacity discs, please ask.
Other formats (price on request):
- - USB memory sticks
- - SHDC cards
We never use DRM.
